Meet the Program Director

Wayne L. Ambroze, Jr., MD, FASCRS

Program Director, Northside Colorectal Surgery Fellowship Program

Our ACGME accredited colorectal surgery program was established in 1999 and was the first of its kind in the Southeast and the only program in Georgia until 2020. Our fellowship training program was established to teach advanced techniques in colorectal surgery including, minimally invasive techniques such as, Laparoscopic Bowel Surgery and Robotics. Northside is now a five hospital tertiary level health care complex with over 250 outpatient locations, with 1,705 beds and growing. Our goal in GME is to graduate successful, independent colorectal surgeons by providing our trainees with high volume, extensive variety of colon and rectal cases and a mentorship training model. We believe that our program has greatly benefited our alumni who have gone on to work in a variety of settings from academic institutions to private practice. Northside Hospital is committed to the health and wellness of our community. As such, we dedicate ourselves to being a center of excellence in providing high quality health care. Northside Hospital is dedicated to the continued growth of the colorectal fellowship and offers the training program with cutting edge faculty and resources.
