Our program trains physicians to be state-of-the-art colorectal surgeons who treat their patients with compassion and empathy. Our fellows will become well-rounded surgeons by balancing complex and diverse surgical cases, high volume clinics and scholarly activity while also maintaining an active role in hospital committees and teams devoted to quality improvement and patient safety.
The faculty in our Colon & Rectal Surgery program are also one of the largest contributors to the institution's Financial Assistance Program. This empowers residents to improve the health of the culturally and socioeconomically diverse patient population across metro Atlanta as well as seven neighboring counties. We remain committed to providing an individualized training environment for each fellow that supports their desired career path, prepares them for surgical autonomy and emphasizes community care as well as personal well-being.
